Through poetry, storytelling, and sharp wit, LadyK navigates menopause, faith, grief, desire, Black womanhood, and spiritual reclamation…challenging who gets to preach, who gets believed, and whose bodies are deemed sacred. This is not a sermon polished for comfort, but a testimony delivered in truth.
Moving fluidly between laughter and lament, Hot Flash Gospel confronts religious gatekeeping, gendered expectations, and the silencing of women, especially Black women…while honoring the power of lived experience as holy text. It is part altar call, part cultural critique, part survival song.
