We Are the Flowers
March 2 @ 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm
$10“We Are the Flowers” is a children’s book that seeks to bring inclusion and awareness to flowers not often depicted in children’s literature. Join us on a delightful journey through the enchanting garden as children and adults alike listen to a reading from the author, Megan Martinez. Following the reading, meet the illustrator, Kylee Conriquez, and walk through her gallery of illustrations from the book as well as her other whimsical art. There will also be art stations set up for kids (grown-ups can play too, of course) where they can make their own “We Are the Flowers” inspired art to take home. All literature and art will be available for purchase at the show.
We hope you enjoy this magical journey, and learn a thing about the world around us, too!
Praise for “We Are the Flowers”:
“Just like the vibrant array of flowers that graces the pages, each of us is uniquely beautiful. As a psychologist, I encourage young readers to embrace the diversity that makes us all special.
In celebrating our differences, we contribute to the tapestry of humanity, creating a world that is as rich and colorful as the blossoms in a flourishing garden. Let this story inspire children to appreciate the uniqueness within themselves and others, fostering a sense of joy and acceptance that makes our world truly bloom.” -Breanne C. LMFT LPCC, Mother
“The perfect book to help ground you and your littles in the beauty of this unique world. In our world of business, this book helps us to stop and smell the roses.” -Megan V. LMFT, Mother
